Career Coaching Framework

  • REFLECT

The key to a fulfilling career is knowing yourself.

What matters to you? What motivates you? What engages and energises you? What environments do you thrive in?

The answers to these questions will guide your career decisions.

This is exactly how you will begin a Sense-Making Session, by reflecting on your career/life story and understanding the influences on your life, learning and work.

  • EXPLORE

    Ask yourself: “What is possible?”

Challenge yourself to consider alternative career directions that align with your values, interests and strengths.

Lean into your curiosity and push the boundaries of your imagination. Brainstorm possibilities before narrowing your focus.

Not sure which option to pursue? Take an action-oriented approach to assessing potential pathways and making a decision about your next career move.

  • PREPARE

Understand the market and what employers are looking for.

Work on crafting your value proposition to act as the foundation of your career strategy, summarising what you do, how you do it and why you do it.

Clearly articulate your unique value and incorporate it into your career documents - resume, LinkedIn profile and cover letters - with the goal of attracting the career opportunities you are looking for and the employers you want to work with.

  • LAUNCH

Create a job search strategy and actively pursue career opportunities.

Leveraging your unique value proposition to confidently position yourself as an ideal candidate.

Effectively tailor job applications and strategically prepare for interviews including managing your nerves and making a positive impression before, during and after a meeting.

Leverage your network to expand your reach and uncover opportunities outside of the job boards.

  • THRIVE

Navigate the critical early stages of your new role successfully.

Negotiate your salary and benefits and managing your exit from your current employer.

Make a strong impression during the onboarding process and prepare for the highs and lows of a new job.

Build strong relationships with your manager and colleagues, improve your internal and external visibility and position yourself effectively for future opportunities.

“Rebekah was incredibly perceptive and generous with her time and knowledge. Every session, she emanated kindness all while expertly unpacking both past experiences and future opportunities. Bex helped me distil my personal value and understand exactly what I wanted (and needed) at this point in my career.”

Katrina, Strategic Communications & Engagement Manager

“I got a lot of value from working with Rebekah. I needed support re-thinking my career options and updating my resume and LinkedIn to the current market needs. Rebekah's advice, suggestions and content reframing were professional and to the point. They helped me discover things I had not considered about myself and my career options. She is now my trusted advisor on career advice.”

Magda, Solutions Architect & Project Manager

“Getting advice from Rebekah was the absolute best thing I did in my job search journey! Having worked as a freelancer/artist for over a decade, I had very little confidence in believing that I could possibly gain full-time employment within an organisation. Rebekah gave me all the advice I needed to drastically improve my resume, which not only helped me land a job but gave me the confidence I needed. I got the first job I applied for after seeing her, in an organisation I had only ever dreamed of getting into!”

Kate, Exhibition Project Manager
